Take It All Off

Y’all really be too grown to actually think that.

Only fully developed people with a high school mentality would consider sex to be the pinnacle.

Intimacy relates to feelings of closeness and connection, commitment refers to the continual choice to stay in and work on the relationship, and passion refers to feelings of excitement and attraction.

Sex is the lowest form of intimacy. When you have a connection with someone and it feels like home, just a simple kiss can light up your world.

You can have bomb a** sex with multiple people, some nasty sh*t but still feel disconnected. You cannot do everything with everybody. Romantic relationships do not have exclusive rights to intimacy.

You could...

• Try sitting in dead silence, be present, and experience time with someone.

• Trust someone with something meaningful.

• Listen to a song that connects you both, singing together.

• Give a long-tight hug and never want to let go.

• Dance together.

• Look at sunsets or enjoy a stroll out in nature.

• Talk about your dreams and aspirations.

• Enjoying each others laughter.

• Give your crush a firm handshake.

• Give a simple, long, and weird stare (make it awkward).

Showering together is intimate in a romantic relationship. Lathering each other up with soap covering every area of skin, both of you trying to stay under the water, sharing a cute kiss in between rinsing. That sounds like how one could get butterflies.

Being comfortable enough to open up about and be yourself, unapologetically! Without feeling like you’re going to embarrass yourself. Exposing the inner you that is broken and having them not judge you or try to fix you.

Most of all, I think consistency makes all the difference in realizing and appreciating each other on a different level. The culmination of expressed and shared interest, respect, kindness, common experiences, spiritual energy, and genuine love makes intimacy about truth.

Real Talk: Y’all too grown to think that intimacy is important when big money can fix almost everything.
